Motion - Erklärung - Motion

The Board of the Society for History Didactics expresses its serious concerns over the withdrawal of the 6th history textbook of the Greek schools, recently announced by the Minister of Education. This decision, taken without any official explanation, blocks the process for approving the , which had begun with the positive approval by independent experts under the supervision of a governmental pedagogical agency, but had not yet been completed through an evaluation by teachers. This form of political control interferes with the freedom to teach and is unacceptable to a scientific community. The Board recommends that a variety of textbooks be made available to the in so that they can fully satisfy their professional requirements, as is now the practice in the European Union.
